Wonder Woman is set in the early 20th century during the height of World War I, years before the Amazon princess, Diana, became Wonder Woman.
Steve Trevor crashes his plane on the island paradise of Themyscira, where Diana lives with the other Amazonians.
She saves him from drowning and takes him to see the Queen.
Trevor tells them about the death and destruction that the war has caused in the outside world and asks for their help.
So, she leaves the island with Trevor and sets out to stop the war.
