What's the rent on that?  How much is the deposit?

租金是多少？押金又是多少？

Rent 這個字除了當動詞「出租」之外，也可當成名詞「租金」解釋。所以當你想詢間對方租金是多少時，可以說，"How much is the rent?" 或是 "How much is it per month?" (每個月多少錢啊？) 當然除了 rent 之外，租房子之前通常要另外付一筆押金 (security deposit 或 cleaning deposit)，當你搬走時要是被招租人 (leaser) 發現有什麼傢俱被房客 (tenant, lessee) 用壞時，他們就可以從這筆 deposit 當中扣除。有些地方法律規定，如果房東持有押金「超過」一年，應付房客利息
