說明：keep a low profile 就是叫人行事保持低調，以免招惹麻煩，其中 low profile 意為「低調」，相反詞為 high profile，即「高調」。Keep 可以用 maintain 來替換，但 keep a low profile 比 maintain a low profile 常見許多；然而，maintain a high profile (保持高調) 卻比 keep a high profile 來得常見。

 

例句：

 

Mason’s been keeping a low profile at work ever since his argument with Tony. (自從跟東尼爭吵後，梅森上班時一直保持低調)

The local people are not always pleasant to strangers, who are warned to keep a low profile while visiting. (本地居民對外地人並非一直很友善，因此外地人被告誡在參訪時要保持低調)
